The Cotton Club

This is the result of the local council granting licensed status to graded buildings in Paisley.  The cotton club was formerly an 'A' listed building which used to be a school for the children of the nearby mill works (also vanished).  This fine example of Paisley heritage went up in flames around the same time as its popularity was weaning.  An order has been served on the owners to restore it to its former glory but nothing has been done for around 6 years now.  This is not the only example of a listed building in Paisley going up in flames after becoming a licensed premises.
